Part of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area, Wildwood is a popular summer resort destination. The New Jersey city is pretty small, but very lively, especially during the summer when its population grows from 5400 to 250,000 people! The city, and the surrounding communities that share the name, derives its name from the wild flowers found in the area. The city and the surrounding communities (there are four of them) that have the same name, are named after the wild flowers that grow in the area.
